Pawan Kalyan Urges Bangladesh Govt to Release ISKCON Priest Chinmoy Prabhu Immediately

New Delhi, November 27, 2024 – Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has strongly condemned the detention of ISKCON Bangladesh priest Chinmoy Krishna Das by Bangladesh police, demanding his immediate release. In a statement, Kalyan expressed his deep concern over the ongoing mistreatment and harassment of Hindus in Bangladesh, urging the Bangladesh government under the leadership of Sri Mohammed Yunus to stop the atrocities against religious minorities.

Kalyan highlighted the historical sacrifices made by India, recalling the bloodshed of Indian soldiers during the formation of Bangladesh in 1971. He reminded the Bangladesh government of India’s significant contributions, both in terms of resources and lives lost, for the creation of Bangladesh, stressing that such actions against Hindus are deeply troubling to the people of India.

The Deputy CM further stated, “We are deeply disturbed by the way our Hindu brothers and sisters are being targeted in Bangladesh. We demand justice for Chinmoy Krishna Das and the immediate release of all those who are unfairly detained for their faith.”

He called upon the international community to stand in solidarity with the Hindus of Bangladesh and urged the Indian government to take strong actions to ensure the safety and security of religious minorities in Bangladesh.
