    Pawan Kalyan Eyes Film Industry to Boost Andhra Pradesh’s Tourism Sector

    VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has proposed using films as a medium to promote the state’s tourism, citing successful examples like New Zealand and Ukraine. Speaking at a review meeting in Mangalagiri, he emphasized raising public awareness about the state’s tourist spots through extensive media campaigns and suggested incorporating these locations in films to increase their visibility.

    Kalyan outlined plans to position Andhra Pradesh as a tourism hub and generate employment through the sector. He stressed the importance of collaborating across departments to promote temple, eco, adventure, and heritage tourism, capitalizing on the state’s rich cultural heritage, scenic spots, and adventure activities.

    To further boost tourism, Kalyan proposed adventure theme parks in Adoni, Dondapadu, and Siddavatam, along with ecotourism initiatives such as elephant camps in Nandyal and promoting sites like Gandikota hills and Coringa mangroves. He also called for special trains to improve connectivity to destinations like Tirupati and Srisailam.

    Kalyan also emphasized preserving the sanctity of temples in the state, drawing comparisons to global pilgrimage sites like Vatican City and Jerusalem. He proposed improving facilities at the Srisailam temple and ensuring tourist safety through dedicated tourism policing. Several ministers attended the meeting to discuss these initiatives.
