Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan’s Speech in the Assembly
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan addressed the Assembly, stating that the series of corruption and mismanagement under the YSR Congress Party government had been inherited by the coalition government. He praised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for leading the state on a path of development, despite the adverse conditions left by the previous government. Speaking during a discussion on the progress of the coalition government over the past 150 days, Pawan Kalyan expressed confidence that under Naidu’s leadership, the state would soon become a trillion-dollar economy.
Pawan Kalyan criticized the previous government for its misuse of assets, such as placing pictures on land documents, and commended the naming of the mid-day meal scheme after Dokka Seethamma, calling it a commendable step. He also highlighted the government’s strict actions against inappropriate posts on social media. He pointed out that during the previous government, YSR Congress Party workers had posted indecent material targeting women in rural areas. Pawan Kalyan thanked the Chief Minister and the Home Minister for taking firm actions against social media activists involved in these activities.
Addressing the issue of safe drinking water, Pawan Kalyan emphasized that access to clean drinking water is a basic right for the people. He responded to questions about the Jal Jeevan Mission, stating that the government is taking steps to ensure safe drinking water across the state by the designated time. He criticized the previous government for not even replacing basic filter beds and expressed the government’s commitment to expand the central government’s Jal Jeevan Mission in the state. He urged officials to implement the mission effectively and promptly.
Pawan Kalyan highlighted the health risks caused by polluted water, mentioning that people in areas such as Uddanam, Prakasam district, and NTR Upper region have been suffering from kidney diseases. He expressed the goal of making the state a leader in utilizing the Jal Jeevan Mission and emphasized the need to make effective use of the extended mission by the central government, which has been extended until 2027. He stressed that everyone should share the resolve to provide safe drinking water to the people.
