Los Angeles, January 9, 2025: Wildfires ravaging Los Angeles have led to a delay in the Oscar nomination process, as many homes, including those of celebrities, have been affected. The voting, originally scheduled from January 8-14, has been postponed, with the nominations now set to be announced on January 19, 2025. This delay has also impacted the timeline for the 2025 Academy Awards, which will take place on March 2.
Approximately 10,000 Academy members were set to participate in the voting, which has now been extended until January 14. Among the films vying for Oscar nominations are six Indian films: The Goat Life (Hindi), Kanguva (Tamil), Veer Savarkar (Hindi), Santosh (Hindi), All We Imagine is Light (Malayalam), and Girls Will Be Girls (Hindi, English). The final results for these films will be revealed on January 19.
