    Omar Abdullah Meets Modi: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is currently visiting Delhi. This is his first visit to Delhi since becoming the Chief Minister, and he has met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prior to this, Omar also met with Home Minister Amit Shah. It is reported that he discussed the restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir with both of them. Recently, Omar’s cabinet passed a resolution requesting the Central government to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, which received approval from Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

    In the latest meeting, it is believed that Omar handed over this resolution to the Prime Minister. Reports in national media suggest that the Central government is considering initiating the process for restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. This follows the victory of the NC-Congress alliance in the first elections held in Jammu and Kashmir after it became a Union Territory, leading to Omar Abdullah becoming the Chief Minister.
