NIA Raids 9 Locations in J&K Over Terrorist Infiltration Links

JAMMU: In a significant counterterrorism operation, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at nine locations across Jammu and Kashmir in connection with a terrorist infiltration case. The raids focused on properties linked to hybrid terrorists and overground workers (OGWs) associated with several Pakistan-backed banned groups, including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), and Al-Qaeda.

During the operation, the NIA seized various digital devices, which are being scrutinized for evidence related to the terror conspiracy. These seizures include incriminating documents and data, which are key to understanding the scope of the plot. The investigation is linked to a broader terrorist agenda aiming to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir by using weapons like sticky bombs, IEDs, and small arms.

The NIA’s actions are part of an ongoing effort to dismantle terror networks operating both in the physical world and online. These networks aim to continue the activities of banned militant groups, focusing on the radicalization of local youth and the mobilization of OGWs. The investigation highlights the continuing threat posed by these organizations and their attempts to destabilize the region.

This crackdown is the latest in a series of operations by the NIA to weaken the terror infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, targeting not only active militants but also their logistical and ideological supporters. The agency’s efforts are crucial in preventing further violence and ensuring long-term peace and security in the region.
