TIRUMALA: The newly appointed trust board of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) held its first meeting, amid ongoing controversy over the prasadam (sacred offerings) distribution. The meeting was convened to discuss various issues concerning the temple administration, with a significant focus on resolving the ongoing prasadam row that has generated much debate and concern among devotees.
The prasadam issue became a point of contention when there were reports of changes in the quality and distribution process of the famous Tirupati laddu, which is offered to millions of devotees who visit the temple. These concerns were raised by both the devotees and certain sections of the media, leading to widespread discussions on social media.
The new board, which includes members with diverse backgrounds, is expected to address these issues while also focusing on other important aspects of temple administration, such as enhancing facilities for pilgrims, improving services, and ensuring the smooth management of temple affairs.
The board’s first meeting is seen as an important step in stabilizing the administration and restoring faith among the devotees who have been affected by recent developments. The members have pledged to work towards the betterment of the temple and the welfare of the devotees, with a particular emphasis on transparent and efficient management of temple resources.
