Amaravati, February 4, 2025 – Railway officials have confirmed that the construction of a new railway line between Errupalem and Namburu, passing through Amaravati, will be completed in four years at an estimated cost of ₹2,545 crores. The project, covering 56 km, was discussed by Arun Kumar Jain, GM of South Central Railway, and Narendra A. Patil, DRM of Vijayawada, who also shared updates on funds allocated for Andhra Pradesh’s railway projects under the central budget.
Officials credited Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s task force for resolving land acquisition issues, speeding up project execution. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the allocation of ₹9,417 crores for the state’s railway development this year, with progress in safety measures like the Kavach system and ongoing work on key rail lines, such as the Guntur-Secunderabad route, which will soon accommodate additional trains like Vande Bharat Express.
