Mumbai, December 26, 2024: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), led by Sharad Pawar, has strongly criticized the Congress party for its recent remarks regarding Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). The Congress had raised concerns over the integrity of the EVMs following several electoral losses, alleging that the machines were tampered with to manipulate election results. The NCP has rejected these claims, calling them baseless and irresponsible.
NCP leaders, in a series of statements, questioned Congress’s credibility on the issue, emphasizing that EVMs have been thoroughly tested and are a reliable means of conducting elections. The NCP also urged Congress to focus on strengthening its own organizational structure and addressing internal issues, rather than resorting to baseless allegations that could undermine public confidence in the electoral process.
This latest war of words between the two parties has added fuel to the ongoing political tensions in Maharashtra, as the NCP has taken a strong stand in support of EVMs. Pawar’s party has demanded that Congress provide concrete evidence to support their claims, warning that continued accusations without proof could damage the credibility of Indian democracy.
