New Delhi, February 6, 2025: HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, discussing the establishment of a defence cluster and the NCC Directorate in Andhra Pradesh. He also urged Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for increased funding for educational projects in the state, including the PM SHRI scheme and improvements in infrastructure at universities and colleges.
Lokesh further met Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to seek approval for the ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel factory in Anakapalle, which would create jobs. He expressed appreciation for the Rs 12,000 crore released for the revival of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. Additionally, he met with Google Cloud representatives to offer state support for establishing a Data City in Visakhapatnam, aimed at promoting digital transformation and AI start-ups.
