
Amaravati, January 11, 2025: Nara Lokesh, the Minister for Skill Development, has issued directives for the launch of the Skill Census program across the state, marking a significant milestone as the first initiative of its kind in the country. In a review meeting with officials from the Skill Development Department, Lokesh emphasized the need for the census to be conducted in a streamlined and effective manner, drawing on insights from the pilot Skill Census conducted in Mangalagiri.
Lokesh underscored the importance of equipping the state’s youth with the necessary skills to seize job opportunities not only within the country but also abroad. He stressed the need for training programs to include language coaching, enabling youth to learn foreign languages for better employment prospects in overseas markets. Upon the completion of the Skill Census, he directed that tailored skill development programs be implemented based on the interests and aspirations of the youth. The meeting was attended by Skill Development Secretary Kona Shashidhar, Skill Development MP Ganesh Kumar, and other officials.
