Nara Lokesh Criticizes Past Failures, Highlights Repair Efforts for State Development

Amaravati, January 25, 2025: Nara Lokesh, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, criticized the previous government for neglecting key infrastructure projects, including the broken gates at Pulichintala and Gundlakamma, which resulted in wasted irrigation water. He also pointed out that the mud dams in the Annamayya and Pincha projects had collapsed, worsening the situation.

Lokesh highlighted the swift actions taken by the current government to repair these issues. In Kurnool district, the failure to fund the maintenance of the Sunkesula Dam under the previous government led to 150 cusecs of water being wasted daily. The new government has fixed the leaks and is ensuring the proper management of water resources, with a focus on farmers’ welfare and the state’s development.
