Mumbai Court Dismisses Tanushree Dutta’s MeToo Case Against Nana Patekar Over Delay

Mumbai, India, March 8, 2025 – A Mumbai court has dismissed Tanushree Dutta’s MeToo charges against Nana Patekar, citing a delay in filing. Dutta accused Patekar of inappropriate behavior during a 2008 film shoot but registered her complaint in 2018, exceeding the three-year legal timeframe. The court ruled the case inadmissible and rejected the police’s delayed B Summary Report due to lack of admissible evidence.

Judicial Magistrate NV Bansal stated that the absence of a legal explanation for the delay weakened the case. Neither the complainant’s lawyers nor the police justified the late filing, preventing the case from proceeding.
