MS Dhoni Has Not Confirmed Yet? CSK CEO Over Ex-Captain’s Participation in IPL 2025

There is much speculation over will MS Dhoni feature in IPL 2025 or not. And amid all the speculations, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has claimed that there should be a clarification before October 31. As per Viswanathan, who has made it clear that the CSK franchise wants him, claimed that Dhoni has said he would inform the franchise about it. “We also want Dhoni to play in the CSK team. But Dhoni has not confirmed it to us yet.

‘I will tell you before October 31’
Dhoni said, ‘I will tell you before October 31.’ We hope that he will play,” Viswanathan as quoted by Sports Vikatan. If Dhoni gives a go-ahead, he can be retained for merely Rs 4 Cr since he has not played any international match from 2019. That makes Dhoni qualify as an ‘uncapped’ player.

Meanwhile, Dhoni has been spotted in an all-new look. Fans would dearly hope they get to see Dhoni feature in IPL 2025 as well. By the time the next season comes around, Dhoni would be inching close to 44.

    Dhoni to Play T10?

Shaji Ul Mulk, Chairman of T10 Global Sports, earlier expressed his belief that Dhoni might explore T10 cricket, following the path of other retired Indian cricketers such as Robin Uthappa, Suresh Raina and Irfan Pathan.

Given MSD’s success in Tests, ODIs and T20s, the ultra-fast T10 format in Abu Dhabi, UAE, could be an exciting new challenge for him.

“I think outside of the top level of international cricketers playing, current India internationals are not allowed to play outside of the Indian Premier League. The recently retired players, almost all the big names of India, have come to play T10. So yes, we can expect MS Dhoni to be playing T10 when he makes up his mind,” Shaji told ANI.
