GUNTUR: Following the successful completion of AP TET 2024, Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh has directed officials to ensure that the Mega DSC is conducted in a transparent manner.
In a review meeting on school and intermediate education with officials on Tuesday, he emphasized that the government’s main goal is to provide opportunities for as many candidates as possible in the DSC. As part of efforts to improve educational standards in schools, the Best Teacher Awards will be presented on November 11.
A mega parent-teacher meeting will be held in December, with the aim of encouraging parents to take an active role in ensuring their children receive the best education. Lokesh stressed that teacher transfers and promotions should be completed before the start of the next academic year to avoid interruptions during the academic year.
When officials informed him that the APAR ID registration program had been completed in the state, the HRD Minister instructed them to expedite the process and issue progress reports to students. He also emphasized the importance of ranking government schools and ensuring that all basic amenities, including toilets, water, and benches, are provided in government schools.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to improving education standards in junior colleges, he directed officials to prepare plans to establish a junior college in every mandal of the state. He stressed the need to focus on improving the learning outcomes of intermediate students in government colleges, and emphasized that officials should work toward achieving better results. Permissions should be expedited for those wishing to set up colleges in remote areas.
The officials informed the HRD Minister that enrolment in government junior colleges had increased by 15,000 due to the provision of free textbooks to students. Lokesh suggested setting a target to increase enrolment by 2 lakh in the next academic year. He also mentioned that NCERT books will be introduced in the first year of Intermediate, and changes will be made to the question paper pattern starting from the upcoming academic year.
School Education Secretary K. Sasidhar, Director Vijayaramaraju, Intermediate Education Director Krithika Shukla, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan State Project Director B. Srinivasa Rao, and others attended the meeting.
