Menlo Park, April 5, 2025 – Meta is set to launch its latest AI model, Llama 4, by the end of April after overcoming performance-related delays. The company has enhanced the model using a “mixture of experts” approach to improve accuracy and task specialization. With a $65 billion investment planned in AI infrastructure for 2025, Meta aims to stay competitive in the AI race, potentially releasing Llama 4 first through its Meta AI platform.
The upcoming launch coincides with the resignation of Joelle Pineau, Vice President of AI Research at Meta, who will step down on May 30. Pineau played a key role in building the Llama model series, and her departure marks a significant change in Meta’s AI leadership as the company pushes ahead with its innovation strategy.
