Medicover Hospital Doctors Treated Deceased Patient in Hyderabad
In a shocking incident in Hyderabad’s Madhapur, Medicover Hospital faced allegations of treating a deceased patient and charging her family additional money for continued treatment. The incident, reminiscent of a scene from the movie Thagore, reportedly occurred when the family of the deceased patient accused the hospital of concealing her death and demanding further payments.
The patient, a young woman named Nagapriya, was admitted to the hospital for treatment a few days ago. On the night of November 5, she tragically passed away, but the hospital management allegedly withheld the information from the family. Despite her death, the hospital insisted that the family continue paying for treatment, threatening to stop care unless an additional payment of Rs. 3.8 lakh was made. The family had already paid Rs. 7 lakh for the treatment.
After paying the required amount, the family was only then handed over the deceased’s body. The family expressed their grief, accusing the hospital of hiding the death in order to extract more money. They staged a protest in front of the hospital, demanding accountability for the alleged negligence. However, the hospital management stated that the patient was under ventilator support when she was admitted and that no negligence occurred on their part.
