    Maha Shivaratri Trek Turns Fatal: Three Devotees Killed by Elephants in Kadapa

    Kadapa, February 25, 2025: Three devotees lost their lives, and two others were injured after encountering elephants near Gundalakona temple while trekking for Maha Shivaratri. The group’s attempt to scare the elephants by beating drums led to the animals charging, killing three and injuring two. The deceased were identified as Vankayala Dinesh, Tupakula Manemma, and Tirupati Changal Rayudu.

    Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu extended condolences and assured assistance to the victims’ families. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan announced financial support and called for enhanced safety measures for devotees. Authorities are taking steps to prevent further elephant conflicts and have urged trekkers to follow safety guidelines.
