
Prayagraj, February 26, 2025: On the final day of Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, which coincided with Maha Shivratri, millions of devotees gathered at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj for the concluding holy dip. The sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers saw a massive influx of pilgrims seeking spiritual purification. The six-week-long event, which began on January 13, 2025, recorded an unprecedented participation of over 640 million people.
To manage the large crowds, authorities implemented strict security measures, including converting the city into a no-vehicle zone. A heavy deployment of security personnel ensured smooth proceedings during the final ritual. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to focus on security, convenience, and cleanliness, ensuring a hassle-free experience for all devotees.
