Kurnool, January 31, 2025: A key development has taken place in the establishment of a permanent High Court Bench in Kurnool. On January 29, High Court Registrar Srinivas Sivarama requested Kurnool District Collector Ranjith Basha to provide details on the necessary facilities for 15 judges, including courtrooms, staff rooms, and accommodation. The information was to be submitted urgently by January 30.
In response, Collector Basha instructed concerned officials to assess available government or private buildings and vacant lands suitable for the High Court Bench. The state government had earlier pledged to set up the Bench as part of an election promise, and a committee of senior judges has been formed to evaluate the proposal and infrastructure requirements.
