Anantapur, April 10, 2025 — Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra inaugurated a new ₹11.10 crore IMFL depot at Somula Doddi, the 30th in the state. He said the revamped liquor policy focuses on public health and transparency, shaped after studying six states. The policy has already generated ₹1,800 crore through the allocation of 3,500 liquor shops.
To curb illegal liquor transport, GPS tracking and digital payments are being introduced, with strict action planned against unauthorized outlets. Ravindra criticized the former YSRCP regime for weakening the excise department. Principal Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena and APSBCL MD Nishant Kumar highlighted the depot’s advanced tech and role in improving operations after a 2016 fire incident.
