After registering a decent opening of a little over ₹5 crore in India on October 2, the collection of Joker Folie a Deux has been on a steady decline, not even touching the ₹2 crore mark on any of the days since its release. The business on the weekends was no relief either. Overall Joker 2 has collected ₹10.99 crore in India in its extended five-day first weekend.
Back in 2019, Joker, which earned Phoenix an Oscar for essaying the role of the conflicted Arthur Fleck, had collected ₹23 crore in India in its five-day weekend. The release date and time frame match but the collections are drastically different for the two movies which released in a span of five years.

The follow-up to Todd Phillips’ 2019 origin story about the Batman villain opened in theaters nationwide this weekend to a muted $40 million, according to studio estimates Sunday, less than half that of its predecessor. Internationally, it’s earned $81.1 million from 25,788 screens, bringing its total global earnings estimate to $121.1 million. Joker had a record-breaking $96.2 million launch in October 2019 in the US.
The reported budget of the film is $200 million even as Phillips has denied claims. Others have it pegged at $190 million.
