Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court, on Thursday, ordered 29 prominent politicians, including People’s Conference Chief Sajad Lone, Former Deputy CM Kavinder Gupta, BJP Working President Sat Sharma, and others, to vacate government bungalows.
The directive came from a bench comprising Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan and Justice Puneet Gupta, shortly after the announcement of Assembly polls in the region.
Other figures ordered to vacate the bungalows are Former Minister Abdul Rahim Rather and Former MLA MY Tarigami.
The order came in the wake of scheduled assembly elections in the Union Territory, as polls are being held in 3 phases.
While the first phase was held on Sept 18, the second and third phases took place on Sept 25, and while the third phase is set to be on October 1 respectively. The counting of votes and results will be declared on October 4.
