The first Test match between India and New Zealand in Bengaluru saw the Men in Blue struggle on its own turf as they had to settle on a historic low against New Zealand. The Indian Cricket Team are now trying to fight back as they bat against the Kiwis. India struggled heavily while bowling, but they managed to take key wickets to keep its hopes alive during the play. One of the team’s strongest pillars in the bowling attack is Jasprit Bumrah , who suffered an injury while in action. But the pacer managed to continue bowling for the team.
Jasprit Bumrah Suffers Finger Injury In Day 3 Of IND vs NZ Bengaluru Test
During the India-New Zealand Day 3 play at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the Indian Team management saw a major concern arise after pacer Jasprit Bumrah sustained a cut on the finger which caused bleeding. It happened during the post-lunch session when India was bowling. But the Indian pacer showcased his courage and determination for the national side as he continued to bowl all the allotted overs.
The incident occurred shortly after lunch on the 86th over of the game, when Team India’s physio was observed racing onto the pitch towards Jasprit Bumrah . Former Team India skipper Sunil Gavaskar, who was on commentary duties, swiftly notified the viewers that the fast bowler had a cut on his middle finger, which was bleeding. Bumrah finished that off despite the pain and then came back six balls later to serve his spell with his middle finger wrapped in tape.
The Injury with Bumrah is another roadblock to the side as on Day 2, Rishabh Pant picked up an injury after he was hit in the knee with the ball off Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery. The star wicketkeeper-batter had to be taken off the game, and Dhruv Jurel entered the play as his substitute.
Losing out on their big stars right before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series could be catastrophic for the Indian Cricket Team as they seek to defend their title while down under. But Bumrah’s injury is said to be minor, and Pant is also expected to be back on the pitch since he was taken out of the play as a precautionary measure.
