Bengaluru, March 29: ISRO has successfully completed a 1,000-hour life test of its Stationary Plasma Thruster (SPT) at the ISRO Propulsion Complex, confirming its long-term reliability for satellite propulsion. This achievement marks a major advancement in electric propulsion technology for future space missions.
The SPT will enhance station-keeping, orbital maneuvers, and satellite lifespan while reducing reliance on chemical propulsion. This development strengthens India’s position in global satellite technology, with the thruster set for deployment in upcoming missions.
