Powerful Political Leaders in India
India Today has announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the most powerful political leader in the country. Following him are RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu ranks fifth among the most powerful leaders in India and holds the top position among Chief Ministers. This ranking is based on the political landscape and leaders’ performance in 2024.
A Record Overturned in 60 Years!
The report highlights that Prime Minister Modi has broken a 60-year record by being elected for a third consecutive term. He has successfully maintained diplomatic ties simultaneously with leaders from the U.S., Russia, Ukraine, and Israel, advancing India’s economy to a $4 trillion level.
Amit Shah, the Eyes and Ears of the Prime Minister!
Amit Shah, recognized as the most powerful leader after the Prime Minister, is ranked third in the country. He is seen as the “eyes and ears” of the Prime Minister, with every decision taken by the central government moving forward only after his approval. Rahul Gandhi, on the other hand, has restored the Congress Party’s position as the main opposition, a role it had lost in two successive elections.
Chandrababu Leads Among Chief Ministers
Among Chief Ministers, Andhra Pradesh’s Chandrababu Naidu is recognized as the most powerful. Despite losing power in the 2019 state elections and even facing jail time, he has made a comeback like a phoenix in the 2024 elections, gaining substantial influence over both the central and state governments. He independently secured 16 Lok Sabha seats, and with allies, helped win a total of 21 seats in the state, making the Telugu Desam Party the second-largest in the NDA. Currently, as the most senior among all Chief Ministers, he continues to make his mark in state governance. Following him in power rankings are Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin, and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee.
