New Delhi, January 6, 2025 – The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 15-player squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Ireland, set to begin later this month. Harmanpreet Kaur and Renuka Singh have been rested for the series, while Smriti Mandhana is set to lead the Indian team in their absence.
The squad will include a mix of experienced players and emerging talent, as India looks to prepare for future international competitions. Smriti Mandhana, who has consistently been one of India’s top performers, will take on the captaincy duties for the first time in this series. The selection has been made with an eye on building a well-rounded team for the upcoming fixtures, while also managing workloads and giving key players a break. The team will travel to Ireland for the ODIs, which are expected to be a crucial part of India’s preparation for major tournaments ahead.
