
Amman, March 28: Indian wrestler Manisha Bhanwala secured her first gold medal at the Asian Wrestling Championships in the 62kg category, breaking her streak of three consecutive bronze medals. She triumphed over North Korea’s Ok Ju Kim in a close 8-7 final, after defeating opponents from Kazakhstan, South Korea, and Kyrgyzstan in earlier rounds.
In the 53kg category, Antim Panghal claimed a bronze medal after falling short in the semifinals against Japan’s Moe Kiyooka. She bounced back strongly in the bronze medal match, securing a dominant win over Chinese Taipei’s Meng Hsieh by technical superiority.
