Amritsar, May 19, 2025: The Indian Army thwarted a major security threat by intercepting a drone suspected to have been launched from Pakistan, aimed at the Golden Temple in Amritsar. The drone was detected late Sunday night near the Indo-Pak border using advanced surveillance systems. Responding swiftly, the Army deployed anti-drone technology and neutralized the threat before it could enter the temple’s high-security perimeter.
The drone was found carrying a suspicious payload, prompting the deployment of a bomb disposal squad. Preliminary findings suggest the payload may have contained explosives, pointing to a possible terror attempt. Thanks to the Army’s rapid action, a potential tragedy was averted. Investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible, with security along the border now on high alert.
