    India Seeks Stronger Textile Ties with Malaysia Through Batik Collaboration: MoS Jardosh

    Kuala Lumpur, April 18, 2025 – During her visit to Malaysia, Union Minister of State for Textiles and Railways, Darshana Jardosh, highlighted Batik as a promising area for India-Malaysia collaboration. She pointed to the shared cultural roots of Batik in both nations and suggested using it as a medium to deepen bilateral ties, especially within India’s “Look East” and “Act East” policy framework.

    At a bilateral meeting in Kuala Lumpur, the minister advocated for joint ventures, skill exchanges, and exhibitions to promote Batik and strengthen textile trade. She emphasized that innovation in traditional crafts like Batik could generate employment, expand export opportunities, and enhance cultural exchange between India and Malaysia.
