    India Pays Tribute to Fallen Heroes of 2001 Parliament Attack: President Murmu

    New Delhi, December 13, 2024: On the 23rd anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack, President Droupadi Murmu paid tribute to the brave personnel who sacrificed their lives defending the Indian Parliament. In a heartfelt message, she expressed the nation’s deep gratitude for their courage and selfless service, which continue to inspire the country. The attack, carried out by terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, resulted in the deaths of nine people, including five Delhi Police personnel, a CRPF trooper, and others. All five terrorists involved were neutralized by the security forces during the attack.

    President Murmu reiterated India’s unwavering commitment to combat terrorism, emphasizing that the nation remains united in the fight against such forces of terror. She recognized the sacrifices made by the bravehearts who thwarted the attack, noting that their courage and resolve serve as a powerful reminder of the resilience of the Indian people.
