    India Expands Diplomatic Presence: EAM Jaishankar Inaugurates Belfast Consulate

    Belfast, March 8, 2025 – External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar inaugurated the new Consulate General of India in Belfast, strengthening India’s diplomatic presence and economic ties in the region. He emphasized Belfast’s strategic role as a bridge between the UK and the European Union.

    During his visit, Jaishankar met Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly and Junior Minister Aisling Reilly, thanking them for their support. He also visited Queen’s University Belfast, which plans to establish a campus in GIFT City, Gujarat, reflecting growing India-Northern Ireland educational ties.
