Nellore, February 7, 2025: Illegal exploitation of Agrigold lands in Nellore has intensified after restrictions imposed by the previous TDP government were lifted by the YSRCP administration. The 1,600-acre land, seized in 2014, was meant to be sold to repay victims, but no action has been taken, allowing unauthorized deforestation and illegal trade to flourish.
Locals allege that Jamay Oil trees, cultivated for over a decade, are being felled and sold with political backing. Reports suggest that 5,000 tons of timber have been smuggled, yet authorities have ignored complaints. The lack of intervention by CID officials has raised concerns about administrative negligence.
