Guwahati, January 30, 2025: IIT Guwahati has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Miraclus Orthotech to collaborate on the research, development, and testing of advanced orthopedic implants and instruments. The partnership aims to address challenges in the medical device sector by combining IIT Guwahati’s research expertise with Miraclus Orthotech’s industry experience. Key areas of focus include designing next-generation products, testing and validation, skill development for students and researchers, and co-developing intellectual property in biomedical engineering.
The collaboration will also involve setting up a state-of-the-art facility for prototyping and testing orthopedic implants, fostering interdisciplinary research. Additionally, industry-academia exchange programs will bridge the gap between academic research and industry needs, while a roadmap for regulatory approvals and commercialization will help bring innovative medical devices to market. This initiative is set to strengthen India’s medical device sector and contribute to global healthcare advancements.
