Free Gas Cylinder Scheme Eligibility:
The Andhra Pradesh government is set to implement the free gas cylinder scheme as part of the “Super Six” initiative. Recently, Minister N. Manohar provided details regarding the eligibility criteria. He mentioned that approximately 1.55 crore gas connections in Andhra Pradesh will receive three free gas cylinders. He also stated that orders related to the distribution of free gas cylinders are being issued.
Booking Date: Gas bookings can be made starting on the 29th, with October 31 marked as the delivery date for the first free cylinder, which can be received anytime until March 31. The minister confirmed that bookings will open at 10 a.m. on the 29th. The first cylinder will be delivered by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on the 30th.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must have an LPG connection that qualifies for a free gas connection.
- Must possess a white ration card.
- Must have an Aadhaar card.
Money Transfer: Minister N. Manohar stated that discussions have been held with three oil companies, and gas delivery will be completed within 24 to 48 hours of booking. Additionally, he revealed that the beneficiaries’ accounts will receive the funds within 48 hours. If anyone is unable to access the free gas cylinder scheme, they can call the toll-free number 1967 to file a complaint.
In Andhra Pradesh, three gas cylinders will be provided free of charge each year, at the rate of one cylinder every four months. Initially, if a cylinder is purchased by paying the amount, the cash will be credited to the account within 48 hours. Each free cylinder will cost the government ₹900, resulting in a total burden of ₹2,684 crores for the three cylinders.
