Karachi, February 25, 2025: The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has called for stricter traffic laws in Karachi due to the rising road fatalities, particularly involving pedestrians, motorcyclists, and public transport. The HRCP stressed the urgent need for improved safety measures, better enforcement of traffic laws, and public awareness campaigns to address the growing concern.
The HRCP pointed out that poor traffic management, lack of adherence to rules, and substandard road conditions are contributing to the increasing accident rates. It urged local authorities to implement stronger regulations, such as installing more traffic cameras and pedestrian crossings, to ensure safer roads for everyone.
