
New Delhi, February 13 – Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the Opposition’s protests in the Lok Sabha over the Waqf Bill report, confirming there was no objection to including dissent notes. The Opposition had expressed concerns about the bill’s transparency and sought that their differing opinions be reflected in the report. Shah reassured that the government would accommodate such notes, emphasizing respect for diverse views in the legislative process.
The Waqf Bill, aimed at reforming the management of Waqf properties, has sparked debate, with the Opposition raising concerns about its potential impact on the autonomy of state Waqf boards.
