Historic Waqf Bill Passed: Amit Shah Accuses Opposition of Fear-Mongering

New Delhi, April 4, 2025: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has praised the passage of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, calling it a historic step towards ending corruption and ensuring justice. He stated that the bill aims to enhance transparency in Waqf property management and benefit marginalized sections of the Muslim community, including women and the poor.

Shah dismissed opposition concerns, clarifying that including non-Muslims in Waqf boards is only for administrative purposes. He accused political rivals of spreading fear among minorities for electoral gains. With both houses of Parliament approving the bill, it now awaits President Droupadi Murmu’s assent.
