High-Stakes JNUSU Elections See 70% Voter Turnout, Results on April 28

New Delhi, April 26, 2025 – Polling for the high-stakes Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) Elections 2024-25 concluded successfully on Friday with around 70% voter turnout. Out of 7,906 eligible students, approximately 5,500 cast their votes across two voting sessions. The JNU campus witnessed high enthusiasm with active campaigning by student organisations like ABVP, AISA, DSF, SFI, and NSUI.

This year’s election saw a four-way contest, with AISA aligning with DSF after parting ways with SFI. Meanwhile, ABVP and an NSUI-Fraternity alliance also fielded full panels. The elections, initially scheduled for April 18, were postponed to April 25 due to earlier violence on campus. Vote counting is set for April 28, with results expected the same day.
