High MSRPs of RTX 5080 and GeForce 50 Series Blamed for Soaring AIB Prices

New York, January 27, 2025: The inflated prices of AIB (Add-in-Board) models of the RTX 5080 and other GeForce 50 series graphics cards have been attributed to the high MSRPs (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Prices) of the cards themselves. Industry experts are speculating that these premium prices are largely responsible for the elevated costs of AIB models, which are often priced higher due to additional customizations, enhanced cooling systems, and factory overclocking.

The high base prices set by Nvidia for the RTX 5080 and its counterparts in the 50 series have left consumers paying significantly more for premium third-party variants. While these custom boards offer added performance and features, the substantial price difference between reference models and AIB cards has sparked backlash among gamers and PC builders, raising concerns about the overall affordability of high-performance graphics cards in the current market.
