London, April 14, 2025: HBO has revealed the cast for its much-anticipated Harry Potter TV series, set to air in 2026. John Lithgow will play Professor Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu will portray Severus Snape, and Nick Frost has been cast as Hagrid. Other major roles include Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall, Luke Thallon as Professor Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.
The series will adapt J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books, with each season based on one novel. Francesca Gardiner will serve as the showrunner, with Mark Mylod directing. Rowling is also returning as an executive producer to ensure the series remains faithful to the original material.
