
Amaravati, April 26, 2025 – The government is expanding roads to connect six key ports in the state to nearby National Highways (NHs). The plan includes widening 15 roads that will link the ports of Kalingapatnam, Bhavanapadu, Gangavaram, Ravva, Nizampatnam, and Ramayapatnam to NHs. The roads will range in width from 3.75 meters to 7 meters, with a total expansion of 344.34 kilometers at an estimated cost of ₹1,096.18 crore.
Most of the road expansion will occur in Srikakulam district, where six roads will connect Bhavanapadu and Kalingapatnam ports to NH-16, covering 118.60 km. Other roads include connections from Gangavaram to NH-16 in Visakhapatnam, Ravva Port to NH-216 in Konaseema, and roads to Nizampatnam Port in Bapatla district, totaling over 220 km.
