Visakhapatnam, January 24, 2025: The Andhra Pradesh government is planning to develop industrial cities along the state’s six major ports. The Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board has announced plans to create a master plan for the development of eight cities, aiming to attract investment through the establishment of warehouses, logistics facilities, and other infrastructure. Focused on the ports in Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Machilipatnam, Ramayapatnam, Krishnapatnam, and Mulapet, the government intends to develop cities within a 100-kilometer radius, prioritizing the 25-kilometer proximity to each port.
The project will involve consultants surveying land availability and recommending projects for approval. The plan will designate areas for residential, commercial, and industrial development, with implementation under the People-Public-Private Partnership (P4) model, aiming to foster urbanization and support growing port activities.
