    Giriraj Singh Inaugurates Jeevika Didi Centre to Empower Women in Bihar

    Begusarai, Bihar – November 26, 2024: The Jeevika Didi Training Centre in Begusarai, Bihar, was inaugurated on Saturday by Union Textiles Minister Shri Giriraj Singh. The center, a pioneering initiative by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), aims to empower rural women by providing them with skills to transform raw fabric into finished products for the global market.

    Speaking at the inauguration, NSDC CEO Shri Ved Mani Tiwari emphasized the significance of the center in furthering India’s vision of inclusive development. He stated that the training center would be a critical milestone in empowering women in rural areas, offering them opportunities to gain skills and contribute to the economy. This initiative will not only provide women with employment opportunities but also enhance their role in the textile industry.

    The Jeevika Didi Training cum Production Centre is designed to train local women in various aspects of textile production, from fabric processing to marketing. By linking rural women with the global market, this project aims to create sustainable livelihoods and promote entrepreneurship in the region.
