Dubai [UAE], March 5, 2025: India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir has dismissed claims that the team has an unfair advantage in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 by playing all their matches in Dubai. Former cricketers Nasser Hussain and Michael Atherton suggested India’s fixed schedule provided an edge, but Gambhir called the venue neutral for all teams and rejected the allegations as baseless.
He also denied that India’s squad selection was influenced by Dubai’s conditions, stating they would have picked two spinners regardless of the location. Criticizing those making such claims, Gambhir labeled them “perpetual cribbers” who should “grow up” and focus on the game.
