Chinakakani, April 11, 2025 — HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh will lay the foundation for a 100-bed government hospital in Chinakakani, a long-awaited project for Mangalagiri residents. The ₹52.20 crore facility, planned on 7.35 acres, will feature key departments, operation theatres, a dialysis unit, and a de-addiction clinic. Lokesh said the hospital fulfills a promise made during his Yuvagalam padayatra and is expected to be completed within a year.
The new hospital replaces the original one set up in 1986 by N.T. Rama Rao, which had declined over time. Lokesh said the project is part of his broader vision to develop Mangalagiri into a model constituency, with upgrades in healthcare, drainage, and water supply, driven by strong public demand.
