Lucknow, April 17, 2025 – The All India Muslim Jamaat has issued a fatwa against TVK Chief and actor-politician Vijay, criticizing his recent presence at an Iftar party. The organization accused him of politicizing a religious event and claimed his actions were disrespectful to Islamic traditions. The fatwa has triggered a flurry of reactions from both supporters and critics.
Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi, president of the Jamaat, warned the community against political figures using religious platforms for personal gain. While some see Vijay’s gesture as an attempt to promote communal harmony, others support the Jamaat’s stance, considering it a necessary stand against politicization of faith.
