Istanbul, April 24, 2025 — The East Turkistan Government-in-Exile (ETGE) has condemned Azerbaijan’s alliance with China, labeling it a betrayal of Turkic unity and a silent endorsement of Beijing’s alleged genocide against Uyghurs in Xinjiang. In a pointed statement, ETGE criticized Azerbaijan for placing economic and political interests above moral responsibility.
The group called on other Turkic nations to reject China’s repression and support the Uyghur cause. ETGE’s remarks have intensified the discourse on whether geopolitical alliances are overshadowing human rights concerns in the region.
