New Delhi, May 23, 2025 – The Election Commission of India (ECI) inaugurated a two-day conference of Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) aimed at reviewing and strengthening the processes for maintaining accurate and up-to-date Electoral Rolls. The event, held in New Delhi, gathered CEOs from across all states and union territories to discuss best practices, identify challenges, and explore technological interventions for enhancing voter registration and roll management.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar emphasized the importance of ensuring inclusivity and transparency in the electoral process. He called for proactive measures to eliminate errors, prevent duplication, and ensure the participation of marginalized communities. The conference also covered strategies to improve coordination with other government databases and increase voter awareness, setting the stage for more robust and credible elections in the coming years.
