He stressed that India cannot afford to rely on outdated technologies for future wars and must prioritize homegrown innovations to address evolving global security challenges. Scientists and engineers were urged to focus on developing advanced technologies to safeguard the nation’s strategic interests.
He also pointed out that future conflicts will require cutting-edge capabilities like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and next-generation weapon systems. Emphasizing self-reliance, the DRDO chief called for increased investment in research and development, aligning with the government’s “Make in India” initiative aimed at reducing dependency on foreign defense technology imports.
